Japanese Sweet Potato Flan|

Here is another easy dessert recipe – Japanese sweet potato flan. In November in Japan, it is getting colder and we eat hot sweet potatoes from a truck going around the neighborhood (it is called Ishi Yakiimo). Sweet potatoes remind me of home. In Singapore, it is hot all year around, so this sweet potato flan is perfect yet still a great reminder of home sweet home.

Japanese Sweet Potato Flan |

Recipe by Tanu-chan

Ingredients (Serves 4)
300g Japanese sweet potato
600cc milk
3 to 4 tablespoon sugar
10g gelatin

Direction
1.
Steam sweet potatoes, peel skins, and mash. In a blender, puree sweet potatoes, half amount of milk, and sugar until smooth.

2. In a small sauce pan, heat the rest of milk and add gelatin. When it is melted, mix with the puree above.

3. Pour flan mix into a small bowl or cup and refrigerate until cold. Add maple syrup or caramel sauce before serving.

You can also use squash or pumpkin in stead of sweet potatoes. When using pumpkin, add a little bit more sugar.

作り方
1.

I absolutely love sweet potatoes, and the thought of using them in a flan has my mouth watering! This would be perfect for Thanksgiving, which is this coming week in the U.S. Great recipe!
